OCTOBER 2011

Conference Recap Letter from AAO and ACD

Thank you to all who attended Design in Action 2011, and special thanks to our local hosts, volunteers, and sponsors. We’re proud to report that we welcomed 223 delegates to this year’s meeting in Philadelphia. People came to Design in Action from 30 U.S. States and from as far away as Seoul, Korea to take advantage of this rare networking opportunity within our industry.

  Presentations Posted Online

In response to the requests we've had for the conference presentations, we've made available on our website all materials that we have an author's consent to share. Want to review David Ghoogasian's tips on engaging audiences from "The Architecture of the Brain" or take a second look at the suggestions for "Managing Finances in a Changed Economy" from the Nonprofit Finance Fund? Find those and many more at aaonetwork.org. We're still tracking down a few presentations, so check back periodically. Thank you to all our wonderful speakers!

  Survey

What are your thoughts on this year's conference? Let us know by completing a brief, 10 question survey. Your insight will help us plan an even better event for next year. We'd really appreciate hearing from you!

Even now, we're on the lookout for new ideas, emerging projects, and established voices that we can all learn from. Help us expand our reach by informing us of a seasoned presenter or industry leader you think could contribute to our next meetings. Use the survey or email aao@architecture.org or events@communitydesign.org with suggestions for future conference speakers.
