Each three-hour studio is led by a professional architect, designer, engineer, contractor or mentor from the Chicago area. Students who regularly attend the studios are eligible to earn a stipend and certificate of completion.
During the studios, teens are introduced to architecture and the adjacent fields of engineering, construction and design. Content areas include design thinking, sketching, digital tools, site visits and model making skills.
TIMELINE + SCHEDULE
Studios take place on Saturdays, generally once a month, from 1-4pm during the school year. The ArcelorMittal Design Studio at the CAC is the primary location, although some studios may include nearby site visits.
