Join Patty Rothman, owner of more, and David Woodhouse, principal of David Woodhouse Architects, for a tour of more—a modern art museum-meets-cupcake boutique.  You will enjoy a sampling of more’s decadent delights while Rothman and Woodhouse discuss the food and design that have made more such a success.  You’ll also have the opportunity to tour the more mobile—a cupcake-mobile that carries 1,500 cupcakes through the streets of Chicago—whose interior was designed by David Woodhouse Architects to complement the store’s design.

Patty Rothman

Patty Rothman opened more in 2008 with the sole vision of embracing excess in every bite.  Recognizing the growing popularity of cupcakes around the country and, looking to start a cheerful, happy business, she enlisted the help of her friends James Beard Award-winner Gale Gand and famed restaurateur Henry Adaniya to enlarge the retail and wholesale store concept and develop unique cupcake recipes. Although this is Rothman's first foray into the specialty food business, she is not new to building successful start-ups. She owns Hinge Studios in Chicago, a premier recording studio that has produced or mixed songs for the likes of Lupe Fiasco and Kanye West.

David Woodhouse

Woodhouse received his architectural degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He founded his firm, David Woodhouse Architects, in 1987, after attaining design leadership positions in the offices of Stanley Tigerman and Larry Booth. David Woodhouse Architects was recognized as AIA Chicago's Firm of the Year in 2007 and recently won a national competition to design the Daniel Burnham Memorial in Chicago. Woodhouse's design for more received an AIAChicago Interior Architecture Award last year.
