Applications
Apply online or applications can be picked up at the Volunteer Services office in the Railway Exchange building (224 South Michigan).
Interview
An interview is required for all Visitor Services Volunteer applicants.
Orientation
All Visitor Services Volunteers are required to participate in an orientation training session offered six times a year. The orientation provides a comprehensive overview of CAF, its mission and programming, and a review of the Visitor Services Volunteer responsibilities.
Visitor Services Volunteers must also observe one shift prior to volunteering. Additional training is required to become a Chicago Model City Volunteer.
Membership
All Visitor Services Volunteers are required to become an Individual member of the Chicago Architecture Foundation.
Cost
There is no other cost to participate in the Visitor Services Volunteer program besides your membership fee.
Benefits
Volunteer benefits are based on the number of hours you work on behalf of CAF. Benefits include discounts at the CAF Shop and for CAF programs, membership and special volunteer-only events.
Unfortunately, parking and travel expenses incurred by volunteers are not reimbursed.
