Design Dialogues: Notes from the Biennale: Jimenez Lai in conversation with Stanley Tigerman

Chicago-based architect Jimenez Lai shares his impressions from the opening of the 14th Venice Architecture Biennale, where he represented Taiwan with a pavilion entitled The Small City Within. Lai is a longtime mentee of 2013 AIA Chicago Lifetime Achievement Award winner Stanley Tigerman. Lai, the Founder/Leader of Bureau Spectacular and an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois Chicago, received the Debut Award at the Lisbon Triennale for outstanding architects under the age of 35 in 2013. An exhibition of his recent monograph, Citizens of No Place is currently on view at the offices of Clayco and Forum Studio.
