Gain new perspectives on the revitalization of the Chicago River as several CAC docents highlight some of the newest additions along the water. Themes that will be covered include The Confluence Transformed; New Riverfront Neighborhoods on the Southbank; Starchitects and Starstructures; and Life on the River: The Riverwalk.

PROGRAM SPEAKER: LANCE FRIEDMANN

Lance FriedmannLance Friedmann became a Docent in 2015. He currently serves as Co-Tour Director of the CAC’s River Cruise and as a member of the CAC’s Education Committee. Lance retired from his career in marketing and international management at Kraft Foods/Mondelez International several years ago.

 

PROGRAM SPEAKER: WAYNE JOHNSON

Wayne Jonhson

Wayne has been a docent with the CAC since 2016 and lives on Chicago's North Side in the incredibly diverse Uptown community. Wayne was the winner of the Today Show's "Domestic Diva” contest and spent 10 years as a food and lifestyle contributor for NBC5 Chicago. He’s also appeared on Good Morning America, Windy City Live, and been featured in People Magazine.

PROGRAM SPEAKER: KELLY JONES

Kelly JonesKelly Jones has been a CAC docent twice. Once in 1992, for seven years, and again in 2016. Over the years, he has led many building, neighborhood and downtown walking tours, as well as the River Cruise. He has also helped write or expand several tours. His day job is Managing Director of Assets for IAC Properties and Perlmutter Investment Company.

PROGRAM SPEAKER: ALISON SCHLICKMAN

Alison SchlickmanAlison Schlickman became a CAC docent in 2015 after a 35-year career with the Federal Reserve. As a fourth generation Chicagoan, she loves learning about and showing off our city on the River Cruise and walking tours.
