Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, much of this neighborhood was settled by immigrants who made their fortunes in the local economy. The area was first developed in the 1870s and includes a mix of economic levels with mansions and working class housing. Wicker Park is an active green 4.2 acre oasis with a newly added statue of developer Charles Wicker, executed by his great granddaughter. Visit this urban community that features eclectic architecture and outstanding Victorian residences where many famous Chicagoans from the past lived and worked.
