Chicago Board of Trade Building
The Chicago Board of Trade is a Loop icon and City of Chicago and US National Historic Landmark that anchors La Salle Street, described in the building's opening brochure as the 'monarch' of the street, still standing tall and proud. We’ll see newly designed and renovated spaces, historical art and the massive traders’ vault within the three architecturally distinct Board of Trade buildings.
Discover the richly ornamented exterior, spectacular vault and soaring lobby of the original 1930 Art Deco design by Holabird and Root. We’ll contrast the features of the main building with two Board of Trade additions: a Postmodern 1982 building with a towering atrium to the south by Murphy/Jahn Architects and a functional 1997 addition to the east by Fujikawa Johnson Gobel Architects.
