Explore how Columbia College contributed to the preservation and revitalization of this popular downtown Chicago district on this 90-minute walking tour.

The South Loop is one of Chicago’s most popular neighborhoods — but that wasn’t always the case. Columbia College bought its first property here in the early 1970s, when the area was known for its nightlife and transient housing. Over time, the school expanded its presence, purchasing and rehabilitating many historic buildings and transforming them into an urban college campus.
