Thank you for your interest in becoming a docent at the Chicago Architecture Center.

The application for the 2020 Docent Class will close on Nov. 6, 2019.

Docent training is a rigorous experience that aims to give trainees a broad understanding of architecture and architectural language as well as confident mastery of two specific tours. It consists of classroom learning,  written homework and on-the-street practice with docent mentors to give enthusiastic, personalized CAC tours.

If you are accepted into the docent training class and voluntarily leave the program after it starts, the CAC will request a reimbursement of $500 in training and materials costs. If you are accepted into the program, you will be required to become a member of the CAC and submit to a background check.
