Exciting sustainability initiatives are being incorporated into our built environment in newly constructed buildings, retrofits of existing structures and more green and resilient infrastructure across Chicago. This presentation will take you to Uptown, Pullman and back downtown as we visit projects and explore new strategies for alternative energy generation, stormwater reuse and energy-efficient design.

Laurel Kruke

Laurel is a CAC Docent, class of 2019. As a Program Manager for the Illinois Green Alliance she has devoted her career to engaging with and educating people on sustainable design. With a Bachelor’s in Design and Environmental Analysis and a Master’s in Sustainability, Laurel’s passion for green buildings is applied through programs that focus on sustainability in the built environment. At the CAC, she leads a number of walking tours, including Historic Treasures and Elevated Architecture.
