This tour begins downtown, where we’ll explore the origins of the World’s Fair and view some of the buildings fair attendees would have seen in that area. Then, we will head to Jackson Park on the city’s South Side to see the former fairground, including one of the remaining buildings from the fair. We’ll also see the site of the first Ferris Wheel and visit a scenic island created within the fair’s lagoon. The tour includes two short walks downtown and a one hour walk in Jackson Park on the Wooded Isle. Along the way, we’ll explore legacies of the fair, hear where else you can find remnants of the fair today and enjoy some tasty treats from the fair.
