Join us for a hands-on drawing workshop that explores the connection between architecture and abstraction, in partnership with the Art Institute of Chicago’s exhibition “Willem de Kooning Drawing”.

The exhibition Willem de Kooning Drawing at the Art Institute of Chicago explores the works of renowned abstract expressionist Willem de Kooning; whose art focused on exploring abstraction in painting and drawing. Similarly, contemporary architecture also explores abstraction to create buildings and spaces that are thought-provoking and innovative.
After an introduction to abstract art and architecture, participants will create their own abstract-inspired drawing to take home. All supplies for this workshop will be provided.
Participants will also receive one complimentary ticket to the William de Kooning Drawing exhibit at the Art Institute of Chicago. The exhibit opened in June 2026 and closes on September 20, 2026.
