With your help, CAF continues to show Chicago how design impacts our daily lives and how design awareness creates an engaged community.

In 2017, we’re inspiring Chicago youth to discover why design matters with the launch of No Small Plans, a 144-page graphic novel that we plan to distribute to 30,000 teens for free. The book follows the neighborhood adventures of teens in Chicago’s past, present and future and teaches important lessons about civic engagement and urban planning.

Your support will help us not only with this new education initiative, but also with other programs, tours and exhibits like our immersive summer camps and our signature Open House festival.

In the past five decades we have hit some truly astonishing milestones, including:

  • 10 million people reached
  • 1 million volunteer hours donated
  • 250,000 students served

And here’s another amazing but true fact: CAF tour guests have walked the equivalent of 80 trips around the world—that’s enough to walk every inch of every Chicago street 500 times!

“Docents with CAF are trained to know architecture. Take any of the 70+ tours offered in and around the city and you will be impressed.”
