Americans are changing — and so are our housing needs. Monumental demographic and economic shifts are redefining who we are and how we live. The need for more flexible, accessible, and affordable housing options is greater than it has ever been in our history.
Housing for a Changing Nation presents the ways in which local architects are reexamining the concepts of “home” and “community” at a moment when much of our existing late-19th- and 20th-century housing stock has become outdated. Join us in exploring how new housing forms and reuse concepts can accommodate the many different ways Chicagoans—and Americans—are adapting and evolving over the course of their lives.
Housing for a Changing Nation features work and designs from Canopy / architecture + design, LLC., Landon Bone Baker Architects, and UrbanLab.
