Beaux-Arts style architecture can be found everywhere you turn in Chicago's Loop. Join CAC docent Mike McMains on May 1 or May 3 as he highlights several impressive Beaux-Arts buildings on this 45-minute live, virtual tour.

The World’s Columbian Exposition was one of the most influential events in Chicago’s history, and its legacy is felt all over the city, especially through Beaux-Arts architecture. This 45-minute streaming tour describes the influences of the Beaux-Arts style, defines its characteristics and profiles several wonderful buildings from the late-19th and early-20th centuries and their amazing architects.

Mike McMains has been a CAC docent since 2005. He is certified to lead 10 different CAC tours and has created several others, including Elevated Architecture: Downtown “L” Train, Elevated Architecture: North Side Art and Must-See Chicago. Mike's professional background is in real estate investment management. Chicago has been his home for the last 20 years.
