Come to the Table is an installation made of reconfigurable elements that serve as a platform for dialogue. The construct is a framework to engage local architects, artists and thinkers in questioning, "What is the State of the Art of Architecture Today?"

Penelope Dean (Associate Professor, UIC)
Penelope Dean is associate professor of architecture at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she teaches theory, history and design, and serves as coordinator for the Masters of Arts in Design Criticism program. Her research focuses on contemporary architectural culture with a particular emphasis on the recent exchanges between architecture and the allied design fields.

Vedran Mimica (Associate Dean, IIT)
Vedran Mimica is the Associate Dean of Research at IIT and former Head of Education at the Berlage Center for Advanced Studies in Architecture and Urban Design in Delft, Netherlands. Educated as an architect, he has supervised and taught numerous design studios, seminars, and master classes at both the Institute and a range of international venues. He initiates and organizes a series of annual International Design Seminars in Zagreb, Croatia.

Ben Nicholson (Professor, SAIC)
Benjamin Nicholson is Associate Professor of Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Designed Objects at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Whitney Museum at Altria, New York; the Renaissance Society, Chicago; the Barcelona Center of Contemporary Culture; and the Venice Biennale of Architecture. His publications include “The Appliance House” and “The World: Who Wants It?” Nicholson is the recipient of awards from the Graham Foundation, the SOM Foundation, and the Illinois Arts Council.
