Learn about the complex restoration and revitalization work underway at Lathrop Homes, a historic Chicago Housing Authority site located between the Bucktown and Roscoe Village neighborhoods on Chicago’s North Side.
The nearly 80-year-old Julia C. Lathrop Homes are undergoing massive change. Redevelopment will turn the roughly 30-acre property into a mixed-income, mixed-use community containing more than 1,100 housing units, including 400 for CHA residents and more than 200 for families qualifying for affordable housing. The project will preserve 19 historic buildings and restore the Great Lawn along the Chicago River, which was designed by landscape architect Jens Jensen. Hear more details at our presentation.
