Daytime Talk: Building the New Chicago City Model
The newly expanded Chicago City Model Experience features more than 4,000 buildings and interactive elements that help visitors interpret and understand the city. Come learn how the model was made and hear stories about the work behind the upgrades.
At this talk, Columbian Model & Exhibition Works Owner Cathy Tinker will detail the lengthy process her team went through to disassemble, transport and reassemble the Model. She'll also share how the 3,000 new buildings were fabricated, with the help of satellite images, extensive research and sophisticated 3D printing technology.
