A 90-minute, one mile walking tour of the 606/Bloomingdale Trail, an elevated walking and bicycling trail and linear park on top of the beautifully restored Bloomingdale railroad viaduct on Chicago’s northwest side.

Trail entrance above Marshfield and Bloomingdale

This tour covers the eastern one mile of the trail, primarily in the neighborhoods of Wicker Park and Bucktown. The tour begins at the intersection of Marshfield and Bloomingdale Avenues, and ends one mile west at Western Ave. Tourees will learn about details of the 606 Trail and how it came about, railroad history, insights into four neighborhoods and the process of re-imagining an old railroad viaduct into a modern city park and trail. The 606 now knits together neighborhoods where the railroad once divided them.

Note: Tour meets at the benches near he trail entrance above the street intersection of Marshfield and Bloomingdale Avenues.
