TINY LOUNGE

Thursday, October 21, 6:30-8pm

In its previous location, tucked under the Addison Brown Line stop, Tiny Lounge had become a North Side institution known for its well-crafted cocktails and intimate environment. When a remodeling of the adjacent L station required Tiny Lounge to move, architect Brad Lynch, Principal of Brininstool, Kerwin, and Lynch, was charged with the task of re-establishing the lounge at another location. The resulting space combines elements of the traditional cocktail lounge with sleek, contemporary design.  Enjoy a sampling of food from the lounge menu while Lynch and owner Colleen Flaherty discuss the process of reimagining this beloved cocktail bar.

COST $30 CAF Members; $40 non-members
LOCATION Tiny Lounge, 4352 N. Leavitt Street, Chicago

OWNER
Colleen Flaherty

Although trained as an engineer, Colleen Flaherty decided that a life spent in a laboratory was not for her and, instead, decided to pursue work in the service industry.  She has followeed this career path for the last eighteen years, managing at Lettuce Entertain You before opening the first Tiny Lounge on Addison in 1999. Rather than throw in the towel when the CTA demolished her beloved bar in 2006, Flaherty decided to open a new incarnation a mile from the old location. Today, Tiny Lounge is once again a popular watering hole on Chicago's North Side.
