Daytime Talk: Creative Reuse of Yesterday's Public Buildings

Jay Keller, principal at Space Architects + Planners, and Pamela Lamaster-Millett, principal at Searl Lamaster Howe Architects, will share examples of their adaptive reuse work. They have used inventive redesign to make an old church and bathhouse relevant again, while also re-invigorating the buildings' surroundings. The two architects will explore how these formerly public buildings might evolve and turn into new neighborhood anchors.

Program Speaker: Jay Keller

Jay is a co-founder and principal of SPACE Architects + Planners. He is accomplished in commercial, hospitality and residential developments and possesses a breadth of knowledge in pragmatic design and energy efficient building practices. He grew up in the Chicago suburbs and holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Program Speaker: Pamela Lamaster-Millett

Pam Lamaster-Millett is a licensed architect in Illinois, Michigan and Indiana who has held the position of partner at Searl Lamaster Howe Architects since 2007. Her work is distinguished by a balance of creative vision and pragmatic exploration. She has designed and managed a wide variety of architectural and interior design projects, including residences, showrooms, restaurants and office spaces. Pam attended Ball State University, where she has served as a visiting critic and juror.
